Top 3 information about the Student visa in India
Since the few incidents that had
happened between the foreign students and the FRRO, the government of India had
decided to integrate new rules and these are the top 3 information about the student visa:
1. Not
changeable
It means that in some cities they
will not allow you to change the course that easily and they may request you to
go back in your country to do it from there. I.e it means that if you came with
a english visa course, you cannot do change it for a BBA course. This practice
is done mostly in Bangalore but it seems that other cities might follow it.
2. Not
extendable after the fourth year
It simply means that your visa will
be renewable until the fourth year and the last year valid for a
student visa is 5 years. It means that you can stay here as a student until the
fifth year and if you decide to pursue further studies you will need
to do the visa process from your country.
3. Mandatory
fees for changing the courses
If during your studies you have
decided to change the course, you will need to pay a fee of 4500 INR for
that. This fee need to be payed only if
the two courses are different and not the specialization. For example: if you
were doing a BBA courses and after that you decided to go for an Mba, or if you
were doing a course of B.COM but decided to go for a BSIT.
