Let’s talk about a little bit about
the Lotus Temple or Bahai Temple; it was built around the 80’s, the shape has
the form of a lotus flower, and is one of the last major Bahai’s Temple built
worldwide. It is set amongst the verdant green landscaped gardens. The symbol
of the lotus due to the common denominator between these religions Hinduism,
Islam, Buddhism and Jainism, any faith are allowed to visit the temple for
praying or meditation. Also, there are nine pools which light up in natural
light, and is around the flourishing petals. The temple itself is amazing
inside, which has a ceiling made with gold and it is really peaceful. Also, you
will need to take off your shoes as it is not allowed to step near the temple with your shoes ( I would advise to wear socks which is allowed) when you have to visit the inside of the
temple, you will give your shoes at a stand and a ticket number will be
provided to you so that you could take it back at the end of your visit. There will be a guide who will explain you the history of the temple and the rules before going inside, after that you will be allowed to enter inside and sit there for a moment in silence. There is effigies or representation of a divinity inside, I would recommend you to check the ceiling and you will be amazed and if you are quite religious you can take a moment for yourself. Please don't worry any religion is allowed inside, so it won't be an issue.
I do recommend visiting the Lotus
Temple it is one of the most visited places in Delhi, it is a wonder that needs
to be seen.
